About the Role

Kind Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SENDCo / Senior Leader to join a school in South Bristol on a full-time basis.

This is a key leadership role within the school, supporting and developing the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality support, effective interventions and positive outcomes for pupils.

The role is available for an immediate start and is expected to continue for the next two academic terms, with the potential to become a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision

  • Oversee and implement EHCPs and SEN support plans

  • Work closely with SLT, teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive practice

  • Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate interventions are in place

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies

  • Support staff with strategies, training and SEND best practice

  • Ensure compliance with statutory SEND requirements and safeguarding standards

  • Contribute to the strategic development of SEND across the school

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

  • SENDCo qualification (NASENCo) or willingness to work towards it

  • Proven experience working in a SENDCo or senior SEND role

  • Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education

  • Experience working with a range of SEND needs (including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, etc.)

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead teams effectively

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Right to work in the UK
