Compliance & Safeguarding

Safer Recruitment Is the Cornerstone of Kind Education

At Kind Education, safeguarding isn’t a checklist - it’s our culture.

When working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we understand that the standard for safety, trust, and professional conduct must be uncompromising. That’s why safer recruitment isn’t just a requirement - it’s the foundation of our entire approach.

We take every precaution to ensure that every educator we place is not only qualified, but also aligned with the high levels of care, sensitivity, and professionalism required in SEND settings.

Our Safer Recruitment Process Includes:

  • Enhanced DBS Checks - Every candidate undergoes a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, including Children’s Barred List clearance. We require that all DBS certificates are registered with the Update Service to ensure real-time safeguarding.
  • Digital ID and Right to Work Checks - We use secure digital verification tools to confirm identity and legal right to work in the UK — protecting both schools and students from risk.
  • Minimum Two Verified References - We require at least two recent, education-based professional references. Any gaps in employment or education history must be accounted for and investigated.
  • Mandatory Safeguarding and SEND Training - All staff complete up-to-date safeguarding training before placement, with optional modules in Autism Awareness, ADHD, SEMH, and inclusive practice. Refresher training is also required throughout the year.
  • Signed Declarations - Every educator signs mandatory declarations to confirm:
    • They have read and understood Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
    • They comply with GDPR and our data protection policies
    • They are not disqualified under the Disqualification by Association regulations (where applicable)
  • Comprehensive Application Form - Our application form gathers all required personal, professional, and compliance information, with built-in checks for accuracy and consistency. No unexplained gaps are accepted.
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Spot Audits - We remain audit-ready at all times, maintaining digital compliance records, updated training logs, and proof of eligibility so that schools can focus on what matters most — teaching and learning.

This rigorous process gives our partner schools peace of mind and ensures that every Kind Education professional is not only safe to work with children, but fully prepared to support vulnerable learners with care, confidence, and compassion.”
