About the Role
Kind Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teacher to work within a specialist setting in Weston-super-Mare.
This role involves teaching a small class of Key Stage 3 pupils (Years 8–10), all of whom have EHCPs and present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will be responsible for delivering a broad, primary-style curriculum, teaching across multiple subjects in a highly supportive and structured environment.
The class size is small, allowing for meaningful engagement and relationship-building, with additional support from experienced staff.
Your role will involve delivering lessons, building trusting relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn each day.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate, calm under pressure, and committed to making a meaningful difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects
- Differentiate learning to meet individual EHCP targets
- Support pupils with SEMH needs through structured routines and positive behaviour strategies
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO and leadership team
- Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and report on pupil progress
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
- Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly SEMH
- Ability to teach across subjects (primary-style delivery)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Team Teach training is highly desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
